History of Grove Truck Cranes

There’re some GROVE Truck Crane Manuals PDF above the page.

Grove‘s history is a chain of mergers and acquisitions.

Let’s note two of them: in 1995, the company acquired the Krupp Mobile Crane division, specializing in the production of mobile hydraulic cranes, located in Wilhelmshaven (Germany), which added 14 models to the Grove line of cranes, and in 2002, Grove was acquired by Manitowoc Company Inc.

Today, the company has 20 models of โ€œAll Terrainโ€ cranes with a lifting capacity from 40 to 450 tons and axles from 2 to 7 manufactured by Deutsche Grove Gmbh (Germany) of the GMK series.

Grove all-terrain cranes combine the speed of truck-mounted cranes with the high maneuverability of cranes for difficult terrain.

The travel speed of 90 km/h allows you to quickly get to the work site. Various steering modes provide mobility on the job site, and the special MEGATRAK suspension system, standard on GMK models, improves maneuverability and traction, both on and off the road.

The main distinguishing feature of the GMK series cranes is the fully independent MEGATRAK suspension.

Unlike traditional suspension (Liebherr, Terex-Demag, Tadano-Faun), MEGATRAK not only raises the crane, but also increases ground clearance.

This is achieved by attaching the differential to the base of the chassis.

This ensures ground clearance of up to 600 mm.

The cardan drive remains straight, which reduces power losses.

The AWS all-wheel steering system ensures controllability of the crane, both in off-road conditions and on the highway.

Possibility of moving the so-called. โ€œcrab strokeโ€ allows you to get as close to the load as possible.

TWINLOCK – hydraulic boom telescoping system with electronic control.
