The holding company begins its history on July 2, 1900 with the flight of the first airship of Count Ferdinand von Zeppelin.

On October 1, 1908, the official presentation of the new company Luftschiffbau Zeppelin G. m. b. H. took place, which to this day is the main shareholder of Zeppelin GmbH.

By 1937, more than a hundred airships had been built.

1954 Zeppelin becomes the exclusive dealer of Caterpillar in Germany. During this time, the company sells bulldozers, crawler cranes, wheel loaders and scrapers.

1966 The company’s headquarters moved to Garching, near Munich.

1980 Sennebogen, a renowned manufacturer of construction and lifting equipment, begins cooperation to distribute wheeled excavators in Germany.

Within 16 years, more than 8, 000 units of Sennebogen earthmoving equipment were sold under the Zeppelin brand.

In 1991, the European Excavator Design Center founded by Zeppelin, Caterpillar, Eden and Sennebogen to develop and market wheeled excavators, crawler cranes located at the Sennebogen production sites in Wackersdorf.

1994 Reorganization during which the company acquired its current name Zeppelin GmbH.

By this time, Zeppelin was already the exclusive dealer of Caterpillar in Slovakia and the Czech Republic (since 1991), Austria (since 1992).

1996 Development of sales of Caterpillar equipment in Ukraine. After 2 years – appearance in 2001 – on the territory of Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Tajikistan.

2001 Zeppelin acquires distribution rights to sell Hyster loading equipment and warehouse equipment in Austria, Germany, and Eastern Europe.

2003 Zeppelin University opens.

Currently, the holding company owns 180 branches around the world: in the Czech Republic, Poland, Austria, Ukraine, Switzerland, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, etc.

The staff exceeds 5, 000 people.
